Easy Potato Peel Chips
How to make Potato Peels into Chips!
It’s tailgating season! If you are looking for something new and different with minimal effort, here is the recipe for you! These Easy Potato Peel Chips are so easy, you will kick yourself for ever throwing away those peelings!
We use potatoes A LOT! So I sometimes feel like I am always peeling potatoes. My friends refer to me as slightly crunchy. What that means is, I don’t like wasting food and am always looking for ways to use and reuse things I cook with. I am a huge proponent of making broth with chicken bones and you may or may not be able to find an eerie little bag in my freezer full of chicken bones. Anyway, back to the potato peels!
This time of year is my favorite. I love to tailgate at home. I usually spend a lot of Saturday morning getting food prepped for all of the big games we love to watch. RTR!, oops, sorry, did I say that out loud? I make a lot of great little bite dishes but this one has to be one of my favorites ever!
While I also prep for Sunday Lunch on Saturdays, I love having potatoes and use the peels to make these phenomenal little chips. So here ya go! You can thank me later!
~ Ingredients ~
The peelings from 4 medium potatoes. (At least 1-2 inches long.)
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
1 teaspoon Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoning Salt
~ Method ~
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Toss potato peelings with olive oil and half of salt, pepper and seasoning salt. Spread in a single layer on prepared baking sheet.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes until crispy and brown. Watch carefully as they can brown pretty quickly. Season with the other half of salt, pepper and seasoning salt or more to taste.
What makes these Potato Peel Chips so good?
I am of the opinion it is their simplicity that makes them taste even better. The fact that nothing was wasted is an added bonus for me.
These are great alone for a tailgate party or you can use them for a side to these great Sheet Pan Bacon Cheeseburger sliders. You can even mix up the sauce you use for the sliders and use it as a dip for these Potato Peel Chips!
As always, we would love it if you shared this recipe with your family and friends. Over to the side on this posts and all of the others are handy dandy share buttons. We would sure be grateful if you shared the love!
