Butter Beans in the Instant Pot
Instant Pot Butter Beans
If you have been hanging around here very long, you know that I LOVE my Instant Pot. It’s no secret that I think this is right up there with the good old Crock Pot, blender and toaster oven. it is in my opinion, a kitchen necessity. If for no other reason the amount of time it saves when cooking things like fresh frozen veggies!
Here at The Buttered Home, we love to have fresh peas and butter beans all year long. We work very hard in the summer to put them up so we can. Cooking them from frozen can take a while so the IP is a great way to have them and have them FAST!
We cook them up with a ham hock to get that wonderful flavor from the smoked ham and marrow and finish them off with a pat of butter for shine and a smooth buttery flavor!
~ Ingredients ~
4 cups frozen, fresh butter beans, aka, baby lima beans
2 cups vegetable broth
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 medium ham hock
2 tablespoons Butter
~ Method ~
Place frozen beans in Instant Pot.
Add ham hock, salt, pepper and vegetable broth.
Close lid, seal vent and set to manual or pressure cook for 4 minutes.
When done, allow pressure to release naturally for about 10 minutes. Open vent to allow remaining pressure to release.
Remove ham hock and discard. Add Butter and stir to melt.
Instant Pot Butter Beans are better!
The IP makes my cooking life so much better! It’s no surprise that cooking these beautiful baby Limas in the Instant Pot taste better than traditional. Why? Because they do all of the hard work for me and in half the time!
Be sure and leave us a comment if you make them and let us know how you like them. As always, we would love it if you shared this recipe with your family and friends. Over to the side on this post and all of the others are handy dandy share buttons. We would sure be grateful if you shared the love!
